SIR E. HOWARD FOR AMERICA. LONDON, December 31. Sir Esme Howard, at present Ambassador to Spain, is to succeed Sir Auckland Geddes as Ambassador to the United States. Sir Horace Humbold, Ambassador to Turkey, will succeed Sir Esme Howard at Madrid. Sir Auckland Geddes is suffering from eye trouble, as a result of gas poisoning in the war, aggravated by close attention to duty.— v j±. and N.Z. Cable.)
