AUSTRALASIAN TITLE.

HANNAN AND McDEVITT IN TRAINING.

Interest in the race for the Australasian sculling championship, which is to be held on the upper reaches of the Waitemata Harbour, on January 10. is growing rapidly, and the indications are that the event will be witnessed by a large assembly. The finishing point will be near Pine Island. Hannan and McDcvitt are both in hard training. Rlverhead is Hannau's headquarters, where he is at work daily under the direction of George Wareham. who has coached him for all his most recent races. Wareham is well-known in Auckland, having been a crack sprinter in his youth. McDevitt. who trains at Whenu.ipai. is showing good form, and tbe event promises to be keenly contested. The Iccal committee will meet in Auckland on January 7, when final arrangements will be made.
