A CARRIER EMPLOYED. j The story of the Great Barrier fanner • who had all his furniture stolen from ! a bungalow at 77, Western Springs Road 1 during his absence was re-told in the Police Court to-day, when Thomas Henry Wise (22) pleaded guilty to a charge of breaking and entering and the theft of household furniture and effects valued at £10g 6/. ; The owner of the furniture, Mr. W. H. i Cave, packed it up in readinees for reI moval to the Great Barrier, leaving it in ■ his Western Springs Road bungalow, while he went to live temporarily at Grey Lynn. Cave sold a quantity of furniture —cabinets, four files ana other I things—to Wise, anrt gave the last-named j a key of the bungalow, in order that he ! might have access to the purchased art!----j cles. On calling to take his purchases I away, Wise purposely left the back door i open go that he might come back. After i that, he called on three different occaI Bions, with a carrier, and removed a : piano, a wardrobe, an entire suite," and j other furniture. Some he took home, ; and other articles he stored in his office j in the Security Buildings. I In a statement to Detective-Sergeant I Issell, who dirested accused on the day I the complaint was laid, Wise said he i was a collector for Phillips and Impey, I and resided with'his mether in Balmoral Kuad. His mother waa a chronic in- ; valid, and he was her sole support. All the property was recovered by the police.
