THE PRESIDENT'S FLIGHT. PRISONER OF TaE TROOPS. CABINET HOLDS ITS GROUND. PEKING, June I , *. A message states that President Li-yuan-hung is held v prisoner in Ins s-pecial train at Tientsin by troops under command of Chen-ping (Governor of tho Chih-li province. Attempts by the British and American Consuls to confer with the President were unsuccessiui, a ]iritislier being forcibly prevented from approaching the train. It is said that the President is being held because he is in possession of Governmont seals which he carried with him on his flight from Peking. The Cabinet met to-day in nn attempt to function in the absence of Li-yuan-hung, who appears to have been driven out by threats of militarists. The city remains quiet despite fears of disturbances.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
