TRANS-SAHARA RAILWAY.
FROM NORTH! TO SOUTH. PROJECTED BY FRANCE. (Received 10.35 , a.m.) LONDON, June 14. The "Daily Mail's" Paris correspondent says that a bill will be introduced into Parliament providing for building a railway across the Sahara, from Oram on the Mediterranean, to the Gold Coast.— ("Times.")
INFLUENZA IN AUSTRALIA.
SPREADING IN MELBOURNE. HOSPITALS OVERCROWDED. MELBOURNE, June 14. The influenza epidemic has greatly reduced the staffs of Government departments and business houses. The hospitals are overcrowded with patients. The majority of the later cases are reported to he mild. — (A. and K.Z.) MANY CASES IN SYDNEY. SYDJTEY, June 14.
