THE LOST TREVESSA
FORTY-THREE IN THE CREW.
LAST REPORTED POSITION. IBj Cable.—Press Association.— Copjrlght.) (Reeets-Pd 11 a.m.) FREMANTLE, this day. The Treveesa was formerly a Germanowned vessel. She was purchased by the Ham Steamship Co., and left Port Pirie on May IS for the United Kingdom with a full cargo of concentrates shipped by the Broken Hill Co. It is understood that the steamer carried a crew of 43 all told, consisting of 31 Britishers and 12 coloured firemen. The position of the vessel at the time of foundering was estimated as over 2000 miles from Fremantle on the direct trade, route to Perim. The latest report stated that the crew had taken to the boats. — (A. and N.Z.) At least one Aucklnnder iB on board the Trevessa, a Mr. W. E. Sturt, who is a brother of Mrs. B. Reid, of No. 7, Oliphant Street, Ponsonhy. Mr. Sturt is 37 3'ears of age. Originally he came from tho Old Country, but had been living in Auckland for about three years, and when the Trevessa was in Auckland he joined the victualling department, as he wished to go Home to sec one of his sisters. Mr. Sturt is a married man, and his wife is at present in Christchurch.
