PUKEKOHE BREEZE.

EX-MAYOR AND COUNCILLOR. RESIGNATIONS RECONSIDERED. The recent breeze in Pukekohe Borough Council, which resulted in Mr. J. Routly, the Mayor, and Mr. D. R. Hamilton, one of the Councillors, resigning their positions, has had its sequel in a public meeting which unanimouslydecided to ask both gentlemen to reconsider their decisions. Two candidates for the Mayoralty, Messrs. J. Patterson and C. K. Lawrie, have agreed not to contest the Mayoralty, and it is understood that 3lr. Routly has agreed to come forward again for that position. Mr. Hamilton, it is understood, has also agreed to stand again for the council. No nominations have yet been received, but it is not expected that there will be any contest.
