OUT OF QUARANTINE.
! THE MAKURA 'S PASSENGERS, I COMING UP TO-MORROW.
After having been in quarantine at Motuihi since May 18, the Auckland passengers by the Vancouver mail steamer Makura will be released tomorrow morning. It will be remembered that when the Makura reached Auckland from Suva it was found that two chil.l'-cn were suffering from alastrim, a mild form of smallpox, and the whole elnj) s company were ordered into quarantine. The IjO passengers booked for Auckland were landed at Motuihi, where the Health Department have been looking after them very well. Fortunately no other cases of alastrim developed, but all the passengers were vaccinated And the full period of quarantine was imposed. With the exception of the contracts, and a few passengers that had to bo revaecinated, everybody will be free tomorrow morning, and" arrangements have been made to bring them up to Auckland. On all only about a dozen people will have to remain on the island for a sliort while longer for observation purjjoses.
