The 'reasons for fixing the annual Rugby match. Xorth v. South, for Wellington on August 4 were explained to the , Rugby Union delegates by the management committee. Applications for the match were received from Southland, Manawatu. South Canterbury and Poverty Bay Vnions. but it was pointed out in discussing the applications that the playing of the match in those districts would mean that many of the players would require to travel more than was deemed advisable. The match was allocated to Wellington in view of the fact that three New Zealand sides would be assembling this year, and that Wellington's central position was the most suitable for players who would take part in the match and would avoid an undue length of time away from employment.
