A bushman named John Thomas Martin, aged 42, a resident of Marnaku, yesterday asked his workmate, who was a few yards away, to throw him an axe. His mate obeyed the request. The handle of the axe struck an obstacle, and the blade, coming in contact with Martin's leg, indicted a severe wound. Martin was admitted to the Waikato Hospital last night. His condition is satisfactory.
