BIBLE SUNDAYS.
• Special reference was made to the importance of the work carried out by the British and Foreign Bible Society yesterday, an interchange of pupils having been arranged amongst the churches of the city and suburbs. The widespread .activities of the society were dealt with by. various minister*. The Rev. A. X. Thompson, Dominion secretary, in addresses delivered yesterday emphasised the importance of the great work undertaken by the society. During the last 18 months the Bible House at Wellington had dispatched 6000 volumes, including 1981 Bibles, 3347 New Testaments, 878 portions of six gospels in Braiie for the blind. The house also sent out Scriptures as follows: 287 Marathi, 195 "Chinese, 173 Maori, 127 Fran in, eight Hebrew, five Greek, four Italian, three Syraic, two Spanish, two, iVs'so, two Gaelic, and one each in R issian, German, Latin, and Esperanto. Jn the year 1920-21 the s-jci'iy issued 8.655,751 volumes, an increase of 1T.1,851 over the previous 12 months. During last year the Bible was issued in ten n«'.v j lorms of speech. i
