TENNIS IN ENGLAND.

(Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, June 18. The retirement of R. W. Lycctt was due to rheumatism in his shoulder. In consequence of playing 143 games on Friday, he woke up on Saturday with a pain like a.knife in the shoulder. He consulted a doctor, and was bandaged, but the trouble returned when he began to serve against Kingscote. It is doubtful whether Lycett will recover in time to play for England in the doubles against Italy.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
