It is not expected, therefore, that there will be any increase in the output from the mine until the miners learn the attitude of the Miners" federation. At a meeting of the Kaitangata Miners' Union a telegram from Mr. Arbuoklo, secretary to Uie Miners' Federation, wa3 discussed. The communication stated that a final conference with the Prime Minister was abortive. The final proposal placed before the federation was that a board cousi-ting )f Messrs. J. Bishop, R. Semple, and (!. Elliot he set up to inquire, into the whole position and decide whether the miner Henderson, of Blackball, was rightly di-missed, the board's decision o be final. The Kaitangata Miners' Union came to no decision at a meeting in the morning, but met again at night and agreed ■.o accept the proposed board. It is understood that if the Blackball Union •grees to the setting up of the board, the Kaitangata men will resume work. i 1 the meantime the miners are still idle.
