January 30. * The British naval airship R34, which accomplished / the first round aerial _ voyage between Great Britain and the f United States in July, 1919, was wrecked a, yesterday. . a The airship, on returning irom a flight to her base at Howden, in East York- { shire, made a. bad landing, which t damaged her engines and propellers, and t. she was blown out to sea with her crew t still aboard. Destroyers raced to the rescue, but the airship was eventually f brought under control, and returned to her base at low speed. r Owin" to her crippled condition she z bumped" several times on landing, and a the crew were compelled to jump 10ft c to the earth. The airship was moored for the night, as it was impossible to ' house her.
