Violet Honeyfield, a single woman, about 26 years of age, when bathing in company with a young nian named] Brooks in a pool in Waingongoro River yestordey afternoon, got into difficulties. Brooks made every effort to get tiic rady out of the water, but failed. A boy named Harris, who had previously gone to the pool to tell the two swimmers that the place was dangerous, went to call assistance, and soon several' good swimmers were on the scene. The water was very deep, and three-quarters] of an hour elapsed before the body wasj recovered. Efforts at resuscitation were i continued for over an hour without sue-] cess.
