Mr. C. P. Skeirett, K.C., returned to Wellington by la.-.t night's express. Mr. George Elliot returned by the express yesterday from Wellington. Mr. W. Reed, of the Wellington Harbour Board, is staying at Glenalvon. ■Mr. H. G. Cousins, principal of tin Auckland Training College, left for Wei lington by the express. Dr. C. E. A. Coldicutt was a passenger 'by the express last night, en route for Trmaru. Mr. Justice Hosking and Mr. Justice Chapman are staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. T. D. Burnett, M.P., is to take atlaerial trip from Timaru to Mt- Cook with Captain Dickson on May 20th. Mr. G. L. Taylor was a passenger for Wellington by the express last night, he being a delegate to the Dental Conference. Mr. J. X. Rishworth also left by the express. The Conciliation Commissioner for ttie Northern and Taranalu industrial districts. Mr. T. Harle Giles, accompanied by Mrs. Giles, left for the South 'by the express last night. Mr. Oiles, who Aa» had a severe nervous breakdown, is on .1 health trip. Mr. Frank Johnstone, the Victorian 'cellist, who since 190fi has resided in Wellington, returns shortly to Melbourne. He came across to be a member of the orchestra assembled by Mr. Alfred Hill for the New Zealand Exhibition. Mr. Joseph L. Goodman, brother to Mr. Geo. L. Goodman, of J. C. Williamson. Ltd., is visiting New Zealand as manager of the English Pierrots. Hβ has been connected with several larp , " theatrical firms during the last •"" years, occupying positions of manager or treasurer. The Bight Rev. Arthur WeUesloy Pain. Bishop of Gippsland, Victoria, whose death was recently reported by cable, was 70 years of age. Educated at Cambridge, he was ordained in 1 SC.«.
