' The Seamen's Union at a genera! meeting resolved:—"That this meeting of members of the Dunedin Local Federated Seamen's Union unanimous, v ■ endorse the action of the railway em--1 plo3ees in attempting to bring about a more humane system dn their working conditions, and a further increase in their altogether insufficient wage. We extend to them the hand of comra'do.-hip in their figh,t, an<j iervently hope that their fight will meet with all success." The executive of the Irfubour Council to-day forwarded a resolirtion to the eecretaTy <yi the Amal\ mated .Society -of lUilway Bervante and the Engine-drivers, Firemen, and Cleaners' Association, congratulating the railway workers upon their determination to bring to an end the "scandalous proi erastination" of the Gorernment in deali ing witlh. their claime for adequate rej [ muneration and better conditions.
