WAITEMATA CLUB'S GALA. The Waitemata Club's gala attracted a large attendance to the Tepid Baths last night, when some good performances were put up. 15. IV. Cunnold won the swim-off with G. Hedges for the Auckland youths' championship (intermediate), while ln the hundred yards' scratch race ■fW. F. Smith and W. J. Edeu baths. The Canterbury ' representatives have, already arrived, anel the Wellington team is due to-morrow, while the Uawke's Bay and Wanganul competitors are expected on Friday. There will consequently be strong competition and wide provincial Interest ln the events, and the iocal public will have an exceptional opportunity of seeing New Zealand swimming at its best.
