MEMORIAL UNVEILED.
On Wednesday evening a handsome memorial brass, erected in St. Andrew's Church, Epsom, by members of the Epsom Cursing Division ji the St. John Ambulance Brigade, in memory of the late Evelyn Clifton Firth, their lady Superintendent, who died of iniluenza contracted while nursing the Maoris and Rarotongans at Narrow Neck Camp, wae unveiled by the Right Rev. Dr. Averill, Bishop of Auckland. Shortened evening service was conducted by the Rev. E. Ij. Harvie, the vicar, and the lesson was read by the Rev. John Wilkinson, who . was vicar when Miss Firth attended the I church. After unveiling - ! »e tablet the I Bishop gave a moet impulsive add.ess, '. taking as his text the words, "She hath done what she <">\ild." He referred in feeling terms co the noble and self-sac-rificing life of Miss Firth and aaid that tl , * , wwinmunity had suffered a severe loss Dy her untimely death, but had gained a nnbl'» pvnmnlb from her beautiful, selfsacrificing life. The service was attended 'by Mr. C. J. Tiinks, Assistant Commissioner of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, Mr. F. J, TJiitchinsoi), CorjM Superintendent, Mrs. Smith, Corps Lady Superintendent, the officers and members of the Auckland, TCiiuom, firafton, and National Riserve Nursing Divisions, and the Auckland and National Reserve Amoulance Divisions of thi' Brigade, There were also a number of friends of Mir., Firth, The choir of St. Andrew's attended in large numbers.
