CITY COUNCIL NEGLECT.
(To tlif r.li'o7 > Sir, —May I be allowea spare to refer to a matter that intimately concerns i everybody who has the well-being of our citizens at heart? Whenever a public holiday falls on a Monday, as it did on Labour Day, the City Council rubbish carts do not call on the right side of Queen Street for five days. Now, on ; this side of the street there are a great ' many restaurants which" necessarily do business every day, including Sunday and the holiday. It follows, "therefore, that by the time the carts call on Wednesday, the rubbish tin.? are full to overflowing, and there can be no question that in the interests of the health of the 1 employees in the restaurants and of the general public this state of affairs ie not creditable to the city. I have made representations on this, martter to the Council authorities without producing any chance in the unsatisfactory regulation of the rubbish collection service.—l am, etc., G. IT. WHITE.
