The Government has ordered 509,000 tons of shipping, while private linns are oonstruetinjr 1,015,000 tons, thus, restoring the m«*rchant tltwt to it-i pre-war footing. The Minister of Transport says that France must raise her merchant fleet to 5,000.000 tons. He will shortly introduce a bill which will give France a fleet twice a* large as her pre-war tonnage, to be. constructed in national shipyards, ocoupying three years. — A. and NJZ. Cable.J
