AIRPLANES FOR DEFENCE.
GENERAL ROBIN'S OPINION. (By Telegraph.—'Press Association.) WELLINGTON, tWs day. "We must (have an air force," said General Robin in proposing a vote of thanks ito Colonel Bettington, R.A.F. Adviser on Aerial Defence io the New Zealand Government, -who addressed officers of the Garrison Club last night. General Robin added: "It we don't have machines to engage enemy machines in the event oi invasion ■Wβ must have anti-aircraft defence. That would cost las much, as aeroplanes, and, in my opinion, would be less effective. There will be plenty of chances for young New Zealanders to take part in this ■branch, of the service."
