WAIKATO SHIPPING CO. OWING TO THE CURTAILMENT OP THE RAILWAY SERVICE, THIS COMPANY WILL RUN A PASSENGER SERVICE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE "AUCKLAND STAR" BETWEEN MERCER AND HUNTLY EVERY NIGHT (EXCEPT S U N D A T). Leaving Mercer Wharf at 7 p.m.. returning from Huntly Wharf at midnight, arriving Mercer to connect with Auckland Train at 6.40 a.m. Passengers intending to utilise this service will need to leave Auckland by the 3.43 p.m. train. THIS SERVICE IS NOW RUNNING. FARES: X / EACH WAY. The "Auckland Star" motor cars, canneeting with the steamer at Huntly, carry papers not only for the Waikato, but also for distribution right through the King Country. The cars are, therefore, so heavily loaded that passengers by the steamer who wish to go beyond Huntly must make their own arrangements for conveyance.
