BEEKEEPERS' CONFERENCE.
(By Telegraph.— Tress Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Beekeepers' Conference resolved "that all apiaries be registered annually, and that provision be made for enforcing a substantial penalty for failure to register." It was decided that a deputation wait on the Minister for Railways to draw attention to the unfair handicap placed on the industry by the present freight charges, and ask him that honey be placed in a schedule not higher than butter. It was also resolved that the penalty for breaches of the Apiaries Act be increased, the maximum penalty to be raised to £20. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr. J. Allen; vice-president, Mr. W. Watson; executive, Messrs. A. 11. Cotterell, R. H. Penny; secretary and Davis, J. D. Adams, N. McKnight, J. editor of journal, Mr. F. C. Bannes.
