(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) WAIHL. this day, At a meeting- of the Borough Council last evening a letter was received from the Minister of Justice, stating that he could not see his way clear to alter the decision in regard, to the non-appoint-ment of a resident magistrate as warden for this district. It was resolved, on the motion of- the Mayor, to again approach the Minister, pointing out that in the past the district has always had the services of a resident warden, and that local knowledge, is necessary- for sympathetic and intelligent administration; also, that the district is. lookin" forward to a revival of the mining in" dustry.
