HEALTH AND THE CTTY COUNCIL.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I would like to draw the public's attention to the way in which the City Council are trying to look after the health of this city. Right in the midfit of the town there is a bunch of about 15 shops and houses whose water arrangements are all cut off on account of the rates not being paid by the owner. They were cut off on Friday, which means that a wait will have to be made till Monday. Now, I ask any fair-minded person is this reasonable for the Council to come and cut off all of our sanitary conveniences, and endanger the health of the occupants, especially in this hot weather? This is only one instance of many in which our Council think they are looking after the health of our city. I am, etc., CLEANLINESS. March 15.
