REMUERA RATEPAYERS' ASSOCIATION.

To the Edltor.j Sir, —I see by your paper that v ratepayers' meeting took place at Remuera. I have spoken to several ratepayers in the district, none of whom knew anything about the meeting, nor was it advertised. Who convened the me<-ting, what was it convened for, and were all those present at the meeting freeholders or simply residents? Had they authority to speak for the property-owners of Remuera, as it is reported that mostly lawyers nnd land agents were invited, tke majority of whom if is suggested are not property-owners and therefore cannot speak for freeholders in the district? —I am, etc., A FREEHOLD RATEPAYER.
