SOLDIERS COMING.
THE ASTHENICS DRAFT. RECEPTION ARRANGEMENTS, The transport Athenic, which arrived at Wellington yesterday morning, wiH come on to Auckland with the Northern portion of her draft of returned soldiers. She is due here at about eight o'clock on Saturday morning.
Arrangements to welcome the men have been made on the same lines as the reception accorded to the soldiers who arrived by the Hororata. .Refreshments will be given to soldiers and next-of-kin in a shed on the wharf, and those soldiers who reside outside Auckland will be given meal tickets. A ferry boat carrying next-of-kin will go out to meet the steamer, leaving one hour before the transport arrives in the stream. It fs hoped to have two bands on the wharf. An aeroplane will circle over the transport if weather permits and drop confetti on the soldiers' brides aboard, together with messages of welcome.
Citizens generally will lie asked to cooperate in gathering at vantage points on the waterfront of both sides of the harbour to cheer the soldiers as they come into the wharf. Steamers at the wharves will lie asked to sound their sirens and fly as many flags as possible.
