POSSESSION OF A HOUSE.
CLAIM BY LANDLORD. An order for possession of a. house in Milton Road, Mount Eden, and also for rent in arrears, was made in the Magistrate's Court to-day, before Mr. J. E. Wilson, S.M., when Alfred Walker (Mr? Rogerson) said he was the owner of a house let on a weekly rental to Mrs. W. H. Morris at £1 2/6 "a week. Rent (£ll 5/-) was owing since January 8, less £2 paid on account on February 15. A week's notice had been arranged to terminate the tenancy, and this had been written and delivered to defendant personally. Defendant had refused to give possession. Plaintiff said he did not intend to reside in the house himself, but, as defendant had failed to pay the rent, he had arranged for a new tenant at the same rental. Defendant's husband, he understood, lived in Hamilton. She had lived in the house since November.
Plaintiff's application was granted, possession to be granted within a week, the order' for rent to date, £9' 5/-, being made against the defendant's personal estate. Costs amounted to £1 8/6.
