Throujth<>iit the war these minesweepers have been dning notable work. Around the 'British Ifiles alone about TOO vessels hnre oeen used. Each month the minesweepers havp '■"iiibed 40,000 miles of water. To do thin tliey steamed a total of 1,132,000 miles. In HMO, 21.000 mines were removed, with a loss of 51 minesweepers. In 1017, 43,000 mines were ewppt up, and 89 minesweepers were lost. Iv li>lS, -up to the enj of Septemfoer, 14O"i mines were swept up and 19 sweepers lost.
