SOLDIERS' WIVES.
(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Monday. Wellington's last experience of the ■wives returning with New Zealand eoldiers was very eatisfaetory, though extreme difficulty was experienced in getting them hotel accommodation while awaiting trains and boats. The Mayoress advertised for private citizens to "take to their homes 184 soldiers' wives arriving by the Athenic, but the Defence Department, tardily realising its responsibility, announced to-night that it is arranging quarters. The women will still receive welcome and entertainment at the Town Hall.
