SIBERIANS UNITING AGAINST CENTRAL POWERS

CO-OPERATION WITH AMERICANS AND JAPS AT VLADIVOSTOK

(Received 0.10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, August 6. The Russian Embassy has issued a statement that the United Siberiau Government, r which superseded the Soviets, is endeavouring to organise a national army whose object is to re-establish, with the co-operation of the Allies, a new battlefront against Germany. The Siberian Government is on good terms ,with the Czecho-Slovaks. All classes in Siberia favour the formation of a national army. The Czecho-Slovaks have abandoned their plan of proceeding to the west front, and will remain in Russia to fight the Germans and Attstrians. The indications are that the United Siberian Government will co-operate with the American and Japanese force sent to aid the Czecho-Slovaks. The United Press Association's correspondent at Kandalaskaya, on the White Sea, says that American troops were among the Allied contingents landed at Archangel. The international force included members of the Russian Officers' League. The presence of Americans was enthusiastically received in Northern Russia, where it is considered as a guarantee of the friendly intentions of the Allies.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
