RUSSIANS PREPARE TO RESIST HUN ADVANCE
MOBILISATION OF PEASANTS IN MANY AREAS. LONDON, June 18. A Russian official wireless message states:— Tchitcheref, Foreign Commissary, announces that the military authorities in the Voronezh region bordering on the Don country report that the German Command has proposed a new boundary. Negotiations on the proposal with the Russian Command have not resulted in an agreement. The Germans on Saturday started an offensive in the regions of .Varniska and Rostoff. They are also advancing to-day in the Vetluisk region. M. JuveneJT has issued a proclamation addressed to all on behalf of the People's Commissaries of AVar, ordering the mobilisation of peasants born between 1893 and 1897 inclusive, residing in '51 specified districts of 12 provinces and territories. Siberian, Orenburg, and • Cossack troops will be accepted. The men will remain on active service for six months, and will be fed. clothed, and paid on the same terms as the' i Red Army.—(A. and >~.Z. and Renter.)
