ELEVEN ZEPPELINS RAID FRANCE.

FOUR BROUGHT DOWN, FOUR OTHERS HEMMED IN. (Received 11.45 a.m.) PARIS, October 21. ■ It is officially stated that eleven Zeppelins raided France last night. They frere chased in all directions by aeroplanes, and harassed by gunfire. Official yarning was given to Paris, but no bombs were dropped over the city. The guns brought down a Zeppelin near Luneville, and another in the Upper Marne district. Aeroplanes downed a third in Burgundy, and a fourth in the Maritime Alps, after an all-night chase. The report that a fifth was brought down is not confirmed. The crew of one was taken prisoner and the Zeppelin itself was captured Sniact. Two others were disabled when attacked by aeroplanes and antiaircraft guns and compelled to descend. The crews fired the airships and took to flight, but were taken prisoner. Besides those downed, four disabled Zeppelins are wandering about France, two in the south-west, one over the coast, and one ou the Swiss frontier. All are closely hemmed in by French aviators.
