NAVY LEAGUE.
The annual meeting of the Ladies' Emcrj;cncr Committee of the Navy League was held on Monday afternoon. Mrs. Bloomiield took the chair, and ou the platform wore Mrs. fiunson, Miss Wallace, Miss Watkins and ('apt. Thomas. Mrs. Bloomiield. in her opening remarks, referred to the sorrow which had befallen Mrs. Ifwersen. and extended the sympathy of the League to her. During the year the ladies had collected .CIA72. .Mrs. Bennett reported upon the splendid work done by the Sewing Guild. Every week IS to 20 workers weie present, and over 0.000 articles had been sent to clothe the children and dependents of the Naval men who have lost their lives in protecting our shores. For all this work the only expense involved had work the only expense involved had been fIG for material. Officers elected were Mrs. (!. Bloom-eld, re-elected president, proposed by Mrs. Walker and seconded by Mrs. Klilott. and carried. It was proposed by Mrs. Mncfarlanc. and seconded by Mrs. Bennetts, that both Miss K. 11. Wallace and Miss Watkins be asked to undertake the same duties as formerly, k special vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. J. B. Macfarlane, and seconded by Mrs. Bloomiield, to Mrs. Maguire for the success of her concert in the Town Hall, which realised £57 5/0.
