Mr. A. De Rune Barclay, whose death at Sydney is reported, was a son of Captain Barclay, of Wellington. Mr. Barclay was for some time on the reporting staff of the Dunedin " Evening Star.'' and proved hii_self thoroughly capable in both ordinary and special work. He left Dunedin to become sub-editor of the "Southland Times," and then accepted a position on the staff of the " Sydney Daily Tel-gT_p_."
