Tudesq. correspondent at the British headquarters of the "Petit F_risien." reports: —The Germans are hastily digging switch trenches in Artois and the Champagne, which afford indications of their intention to retreat. For the last three weeks fires and explosions have been of daily occurrence. Moreover the enemy are emptying their artillery parks. The Hindenburg line has been hollowed out or burst in for over nine miles from nortn-west of Queant to Menville and Sitassi. The British in a month have taken lines that occupied the enemy over a year to construct—(A. and N.Z.)
