ROBBERY UNDER ARMS.
MASKED MEN AT PALMERSTON. A SIXPENNY " HOLD-UP." (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, this day. A sensational case of robbery by masked and armed men has been reported to the police. When Mr. N. H. Sinclair, manager of Watson Bros.' grocery storo, reached his home, be wa6 held up by two men who were hiding in the garden. They rifled his pockets, but fortunately he only had sixpence with him. Then they marched him a considerable distance down the road to an old gravel-pit, where they took the keys of the store from him. Sinclair made an attempt to break away, but one of the men fired at him. He pretended to be hit, and his assailants took to their heels. On. the previous Saturday night a taxi-driver was robbed of a small sum of money by two masked men.
