RAILWAY SLIPS.
OK THE KAIPARA LINE. | TRAFFIC HELD UP. Information was rceived late on Sunday evening at the headquarters of the Railway Department in Auckland that the slips on the Kaipara line, as the revolt of the heavy rains experienced a week ago, are still causing considerable inconvenience to the Department, which has found it necessary to suspend passenger and goods traffic for stations north of Kaukapakapa. Three gangs of men are employed removing the debris at the Ahuroa and Woodcocks tunnels, and at places at the ! other side of the slips. The work is -necessarily very laborious, and up till to-day very little progress had been made. The Department anticipates that it I will be a week or so before communication with Wellsford can be restored.
