MEETING OF THE TJUTECtITIV-B. The Mayor (,Mr J. H. Gunsou) presided orer a meeting of the executive committee of the Auckland Patriotic Association, held in ttie Town Hall yesterdny nfternoon. It was decided to Inquire what period the donation covered. Committee Elected. —As tlii* was tile first meeting of the newly-elecLed executive, committees were re-elected with the addition of the name of Mr V. .1. Uirner to the Finance Committee, and of Mr 11. I). Heather to the Claims Board. Employment Bureaux.—Arising out of the alleged overlapping that will result from tlie formation by flic ■Ueturned Soldiers' Association of tin employment committee, Mr K. E, Fenton, chairman of the Patriotic Association's employment committee, waited on the meeting and suggested that there should be only one otaclal body, and that if the Iccturned Soldiers' Association was really desirous of conducting its own bureau, the Patriotic Association's commlteee should be disbanded. Executive decided to ask the committee to continue for a month at least. A .New Brnnch.-Jlaving received the formal consent of the Tanmarunui nnd. To Ktiiti branches, the executive deckled to form a new branch of the Association at Ohura, and to ask the local committee to liiiud over to the executive the £2floo It has in hand. I The Soldiers' Club.—The Soldiers' Club ! Committee reported that the expenses , Incurred by the Association in connection ! -with the club approximated £1000, lucludj ins £500 paid to the V.M.C.A.
