" EIGHTEENTH " SHORTAGES.
MEN LEAVE FOR CAMP. THE DRAFT INCOMPLETE. A small draft of men for camp, consisting of two probationary non-commis-sioned officers and sixteen infantrymen, who are to make up the Auckland district's shortage in the Eighteenth Reinforcements, left for Trentham by the 12.40 p.m. express this afternoon. The district's total shortage in the draft was 23, but five of the men secured by the local defence authorities were withdrawn yesterday, and their places were not able to be filled in the short period before the departure of the train. The men left in charge of Captain G. P. O'Shannessy. The. namee. occupations, and addresses of the men who comprised the draft are as foDows: — John Brunt, bricklayer. Burleigh Street.
