SLACK RECRUITING.
ONE RECRUIT TO-DAY. SIX SINCE YESTERDAY. An exceptionally slack day was experienced at the City" Recruiting Station today, no more than one man having enlisted. Since the "Star" went to press yesterday afternoon only six men have been examined, of whom four were accepted and two rejected owing to chest j defects. j The names, occupations and addresses of those accepted since 2 p.m. yesterday, together with the groups to which they will be credited, are as follows:— NO. 1 (CITY) GROUP. John Brunt, bricklayer. Burleigh Street. Raymond IT. Buscomb, law clerk, V.M.C.A. .lames Mearns. contractor, Mt. Eden. Edmond A. Robertson, teacher, Avondale.
