AUCKLAND HARBOUR BOARD.

The report of the Manukau Harbourmaster (Captain R. H. Gibbons) showed the arrivals aggregated 4.300 net tons, which was an increase of four vessels and 2,273 net tons on the preceding year. ENGINEER'S REPORT. The report of the Engineer for the fortnight ending June 27. 1916, recorded that the Hapai was working in very hard sandstone at King's wharf, and was removing for about 1/ per yard what used to cost half-a-gulnea per yard. The other dredges were concentrated on St. George's Bay reclamation, which was now full. In regard to the St George's Bay reclamation, -wet weather had interfered with the work, but the Quay Street roadway formation level was -well advanced, and the road was taking shape. Steady progress continues with the Central wharf. The two new boatsheds at St. George's Bay had been held up owing to difficulty in getting timber. The electric saw bench and concrete mixer had been removed from the north wall on completion of pilemaking to the Oenlrnl wh-Jrf. The machinery at the slipways had bceu kept very busy. The electric <-ranos had been very fully employed. Progress eontinncd with the work of repairing Onehungn wharf, though It was now in the area which was constantly Interrupted by railway traffic.
