AUCKLAND SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION.
The monthly meeting of the General Committee of the Sunday School Colon was herd in Wpsley Hall, Pitt Street. The president was in the chair, and forty delegates were present. The treasurer reported that over forty town and country scion's had already responded to the appeal for funds for tbe Back-blocks Missions, and that several private donations had been received for the same object. A committee was set up to secure suitable literature and information generally with regard to open-air services on the beaches in the summer months Work of this kind is now being undertaken by the Hey. B. Palgrave 'Davy, of Takapuna. who bas had experience of similar services at Home. A small sub-committee was appointed to inquire into and report on the series of after-scboc*-N3ddresses at present being given in several State schools in the city by the Eev. H. Bradflock. Mr. W. F. Freeman, extension lecturer of tbe English Sunday School Union, proposes to visit Auckland in May. The committee decided to avail itself of the opportunity of securing two lectures from Mr. Free-
man. The examination; to be-lieldi oavjune 30th. received further consideration. Itmss decided- -that the text books tor teachers should be the Old Testament, one of the volumes of the "Canadian teacher Training Course," and "Stories and Story Telling," by .professor St. John.
