PT. UHL-UI.A "SHADOWED. '■ The r.iverpoo: steamer St. Ursula, wliich is due at Auckland at the end of the week from New York, via Pafiania arid "soufnern ports, liiid n rather exciting experience In the Atlantic, where she was "shadowed" for :i time by two mysterious vessels. The first stranger disclosed her presence one pitrli-dark night by showing two unusual lights on the br.rizou (says the Dunedin "S'jir '). The lights were not those of the orthodox trader, and the displayer of the lights shadowed the St. Ursula, "responding to change of helm in a manner that indicated great speed. At length, when near (rooked Island, the St. Ursula headed straight for the elusive stranger, who. ap predating the situation, resorted to speed, and dbappeared. A smaller vessel subsequently did similar shadowing, and although neither "shadower'.' was in any .way recognised, they were regarded as French or British craft in quest of the Karlsruhe.
