Frazer-H-rst, medical -super* intendent of the Whangarei Hospital, who volunteered for active service in his professional capacity at the outbreak of the present war, has been summoned, to Trentham, after which I he will no doubt leave for. the front. \ ;Dr. Frazer-Hurst has seen previous active service in China at the time of the Boxer rebellion, for which -he* was awarded a medal and clasp for-the''re-lief of Peking, 1900, and aftefwaTtls in South Africa, where he served, .with tbe South 'African Field Force, receiving of a "medal and three clasps, 1902. Since -Dr. Frazer-Hurst has been in charge of. the Whangarei -Hospital,- the work of this' institution has advanced enormously, and the departure of.the popular doctor to the war will leave a vacancy very hard to fill in the meantime.
