ANOTHER CONVERSION.
SWISS EYES OPENED. THE GERMAN UNMASKED. (Times and Sydney Sun Services.) (Received 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 18. A Swiss correspondent of the "Times" says: "At the commencement of the war the Sw.'ss were inclined to favour Germany. They speak a common language, have German blood in their veins, German clothes on their backs, German coal in their stoves, German proprietors in their shops, German professors in their universities, German "Kultur" in their minds, German money and brains in their newspapers. When the Swiss saw that Germany was not winning, and perhaps would be defeated, a revulsion of feeling set in. Beginning with the frequent deception in news of German origin and the misrepresentation regarding the violation of Belgium, the Swiss have gradually learned the truth of German atrocities and the falsity of the German victories. The Swiss also realise that German competition is seriously threatening Swiss economic independence."
