M. H. Musgrave supports two previous correspondents in urging an Inquiry into the allegation made by the prisoner Todd that the prisoner Georse Harris, two weeks before his death, had asked a warder to bring medical assistance and been refused. J. J)owling urges the introduction of licensed houses as a remedy for the social evil. The Act which authorised such a system has been removed from the Statute Book, and «'c venture to j predict that it will never be restored.
