An extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in the Dominion (5.M. Co. was held this morning in Mr. H. Gilfillan's office, which was wel lattended. Mr. R. H. Harrison was voted to the chair. Mr. Gilfillan (secretary) said 187,600 shares had been issued,-and 103,392 were forfeited, leaving 84,208. Directors had therefore called shareholders together to get instruction as to how the forfeited shares should be dealt with. At present the company had £40 in hand, out of which wages had to be paid. Mr. Bartley said the low level had been put in a considerable distance, and should cut the reef where it would give 600 ft of backs, at a point corresponding with No. •£. or No. 8 level in the Talisman mine. The reef they hoped to get was showing on the surface, and known as tire Woodstock reef in the Talisman mine. On the surface the Dominion Co. drove 72ft on that reef, and the best assay was £2 11/ per ton, which he. considered very encouraging. The lode was 10ft to 12ft wide. If it was cut in the low level, and turned out as' they, hoped, the Dominion would be a very good property indeed. What was wanted was money to continue that drive. He thought shareholders should give directors authority to deal with the forfeited shares. He was satisfied that there were shareholders ready to take up a number of shares lor the halfpenny call. He had faith in the prospects of the mine, and their manager could have had other situations, but had such faith in the Dominion mine that he preferred to remain there. Mr. Bartley said he believed the reef would be cut in another 100 ft. The chairman moved: "That the disposal of the shares forfeited be left in the hands of the directors, on such terms as they deem fit." This was seconded by Mr. Bagnall and agreed to. Mr. Tapper suggested the present was a suitable time to reduce the number of shares issued. The chairman said that would probably. be done. THE «w* »•»!«» it^f«|» i BUSINESS DONE. AT THE 33.115 P.M.
