Emergency Surgeon.—-linere were six applications for the position of additional honorary surgeon at the hospital, and they were forwarded to the honorary consulting stall for report prior to selection by tne Hoard. Warkworth's Needs. —The Warkworth Town board drew attention to the necessity for a cottage hospital in that districu The only qualified maternity nurse that had been in the district had recently left, leaving the district unprovided in tnat respect, when there was work for three nurses. Mr. Mennie stated ttiut Cue needs of Warkworth had not beeu overlooked, and a resolution was to come before the Board later proposing to set up a sub-committee to visit the district and report. Mr. Dye moved that meantime the Board subsidise a trained nurse, qualified to do maternitywork, and that the matter of finding a nurse prepared to go to the district he left to the iuauce Committee for report.
